Simon J Gibson OBE

Simon is Chief Executive of Wesley Clover Corporation. Wesley Clover is a Venture Fund specialising in seeding technology companies. The fund has created more than 60 companies and realised in excess of $12B of value to date. He has broad management experience in high-technology industries in both North America and Europe. Before joining Wesley Clover, he was co-founder, President and CEO of Ubiquity Software Corporation. Ubiquity was named Innovator of the year in 2001 by the British Venture Capital Association and in 2007 Ubiquity was acquired by Avaya Inc. for $200M.

His current company directorships include Wesley Clover Corporation, the Celtic Manor Resort (host of the 2010 Ryder Cup), March Networks and IQE plc. He is also Chairman of Enfis plc and Inuk Networks, an IPTV service provider.

He has been the recipient of four national R&D awards and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to industry and to the community in South Wales in the 1999 Queen's Birthday Honours list. He is an advisor to several government bodies including the National Economic Research Advisory Panel. He recently chaired an independant panel evaluating the commercialisation issues in Higher Education on behalf of the National Assembly for Wales.

He is a Regent of Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford and is a member of the Council of Cardiff University. Simon sits on the Advisory Board of BYU Television.

Simon is married with four children and resides in the beautiful County of Monmouthshire.
