Purchasing Manager, Celtic Manor Resort

Andrew graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Economics in 1990.

He joined Tesco later that year in the Stock Management division with responsibility for the ordering and monitoring of stock in the distribution centres across the UK and Europe. Gaining experience across a broad range of product areas, suppliers included Mars, Birds Eye Walls and Heinz.

Andrew has a varied career history. At Buy As You View (part of the 3i Group) he was Senior Buyer and has also worked on a contractual basis as a Procurement specialist at Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust in Bridgend and within the aircraft manufacturing industry at Contour Premium Aircraft Interiors (formerly Britax) in Cwmbran.

Andrew’s career led him to the Celtic Manor Resort in 2006. Recent challenging projects that his team has successfully undertaken include equipping and furnishing the newly built 2010 Ryder Cup Golf Clubhouse and more recently kitting out the kitchen and refurnishing the highly recommended fine dining restaurant ‘The Crown At Celtic Manor’.

Going forward, as 2010 approaches and the prestigious Ryder Cup heads to the Celtic Manor, the Purchasing team will be a key component in the projects planned across the Resort.
